First export container train flagged off to Pipavav Port by Rajasthan Small Industries Corporation Ltd.
The Rajasthan Small Industries Corporation Ltd. (RAJSICO) flagged off the first container train from Jodhpur (ICD Basni) to APM Terminals Pipavav for exports to various countries. The train was flagged off by Dr. Rajesh Sharma, Division Commissioner & Managing Director, RAJSICO last week. This is the first such direct train between Jodhpur (ICD Basni) & APM Terminals Pipavav.
This direct connectivity from the Inland Container Depots (ICD’s) to the terminal will help in expanding the exports of commodities such as, handicrafts and guar gum to the global markets from the region and extend the capacity and competency of a quick turnaround in domestic and global trade.
Mr. Jakob Friis Sorensen Managing Director APM Terminals Pipavav said, “This is indeed an important step in expediting safe passage of cargoes for export via train. The export train service will further strengthen our competencies and service delivery to our clients.
