Gujarat to host pre-vibrant event ‘Leveraging Logistic Strength of Gujarat for Agro & Food Processing Sector’ on Thursday

GANDHINAGAR : As a precursor to the 10th Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024, a pre-Vibrant Seminar on ‘Leveraging Logistic Strength of Gujarat for Agro & Food Processing Sector’ is scheduled to be held on Thursday, at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Auditorium, AMUL in Anand.

This is organized by Agriculture, Farmers Welfare and Co-operation Department of Gujarat.

The event will serve as a platform for the government and the private sector to collaborate and discuss the infrastructural and logistical strengths of the state. These strengths have contributed to the establishment of more than 30,000 food processing units and have expanded the scope of value addition to surplus produce, thanks to improved connectivity for exports. The event will take place in association withAmul Auditorium in Anand.

The summit will consist of three sessions featuring panelists from both the industry and academia, covering the following topics: 1) Vibrant Gujarat: Where Growth is Natural, 2) Food Supply Chain Management for ‘One Earth, One Family, One Future’ and 3) Gujarat Fortifying Global Food Platter with Greens, White, and Blue

The panel discussions will encompass diverse topics, ranging from incubation support for new startups, cluster-centric exports, to blockchain for food supply chain management. Distinguished speakers from organizations such as NDDB, Rasna, UPL, IBM Consulting, Tata Soulful, APEDA, II, Nedspice India, and Harisons Ventures will share their insights.

Minister of State (Cooperation), Shri Jagdish Vishwakarma stated, “Agriculture and dairy cooperatives are robust in Gujarat, with Anand being the heart of the cooperative movement. Value addition is the way forward, with technological advancements in agri and food processing.”

Several (MoUs) are expected to be signed during the program. The summit anticipates the participation of over 1500 attendees from across the country, representing the industry, academia, and government.

MD, GAIC stated, “The agro and food processing sector is poised to be a major contributor to our journey towards Viksit Bharat @ 2047. In line with the input given to this sector by the Government of India, the Government of Gujarat has also identified agro and food processing as a thrust sector in the Atmanirbhar Gujarat Schemes 2022. We invite industries through this Pre-Vibrant Event to come and reap the benefits of the same.”
