Offshore Warriors secures tow of Wan Hai 503 after three days of Fire fighting and Salvage Operations
NEW DELHI : In a major breakthrough, Indian Salvage Tug Offshore Warrior has successfully established a tow connection with the distressed Singapore-flag vessel WAN HAI 503 on June 13, 2025, late in the evening after three days of continuous salvage and firefighting operations.

The operation, closely coordinated by Director General of Shipping (DG Shipping), involved the Indian Coast Guard, the Indian Navy, OSV Triton Liberty, ETV Water Lily and salvors, with the salvage team personnel boarding the vessel by sea king helicopter amidst challenging sea and weather conditions to manually secure the tow line.
With the tow now firmly connected, the vessel is being safely pulled away from the Indian coastline, significantly reducing the risk to coastal areas and the marine environment.
DG Shipping continues to monitor and coordinate the multi-agency response round the clock to ensure safe stabilisation of the vessel.
