Sonowal inaugurated the NTCPWC at Discovery Campus of IIT-Madras

CHENNAI : Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, Hon’ble Union Minister for Ports, Shipping & Waterways and AYUSH, Government of India inaugurated the National Technology Centre for Ports, Waterways and Coasts (NTCPWC) at Discovery Campus of IIT-Madras.

The National Technology Centre for Ports, Waterways and Coasts (NTCPWC) is developed under Sagarmala program of Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways, Government of India.

The program was virtually attended by Shri Nandeesh Shukla, IRTS, Dy. Chairman & Senior Officials of Deendayal Port Authority.

As the technological arm of MoPSW, this facility will provide world class indigenous technological solutions for maritime sector.

Under the ambit of MoPSW’s Sagarmala Programme, NTCPWC at IIT-Madras has been established at a cost of Rs. 77 Cr. The Institute empowers Make in India and Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiatives by developing cutting-edge technologies & applications for Maritime Sector.
