Gujarat govt organising ‘Summit of Success’ to celebrate 20 years of ‘Vibrant Gujarat Summit’ on September 28
AHMEDABAD : To celebrate the completion of 20 years of the Vibrant Gujarat Summit, the Gujarat government will organise an event called the ‘Summit of Success’ in Ahmedabad on September 28, Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel said on Wednesday.
The event will be held at Tagore Hall, which was the venue for the first edition of Vibrant Gujarat held in 2003.
“Under the leadership of Prime Minister and former CM of Gujarat, Shri Narendra Modi, the first edition of Vibrant Gujarat was held on September 28, 2003. With the summit completing two decades this month, a celebration, ‘Summit of Success’, will be held at Tagore Hall on September 28,” Patel said while addressing industry representatives and mediapersons in Gandhinagar.
Patel further announced that the 10th edition of Vibrant Gujarat will be held in January 2024. The last edition of the summit was held in 2019. The Gujarat government had planned to organise the 10th edition of the summit last January. However, an outbreak of Covid-19 cases forced the government to postpone the event indefinitely, especially after heads of certain countries expressed their inability to travel due to the pandemic.
“Between 2003 and 2023, the Gujarat government has organised nine successful editions of this summit. The 10th edition of the summit will be held from January 10-12, 2024. The theme will be ‘Gateway to the Future’,” Patel said. He also launched a website, mobile application and brochure for the upcoming Vibrant Gujarat edition.
“In the run-up to the 10th edition of Vibrant Gujarat summit, MoUs (memorandums of understanding) worth more than Rs 13,500 crore have already been signed. These agreements will help generate 50,500 new jobs in the state,” Patel said.
To ensure that all districts take part in the upcoming summit, the government this time will organise ‘Vibrant District’ programmes, wherein events, including exhibitions, seminars on credit linkages and exports, meetings as well as workshops, will be held with the help of local industrial and trade associations at 37 places.
Industries Minister Balwantsinh Rajput said that in 2019, when the last edition of Vibrant Gujarat was held, more than 28,000 MoUs were signed. “Of these, 81 per cent of the MoUs have been implemented and only 9 per cent is under implementation,” he added.
