MUMBAI: Gateway Terminals India Pvt. Ltd. (APM Terminal Mumbai) has achieved a significant operational milestone by completing the handling of an ATU Double Stack Rake comprising 90+180 TEUs in just 3 hours and 17 minutes, from arrival to last lift.
The performance marks a substantial improvement over the current DSR average handling time of 10 hours and 34 minutes, highlighting the terminal’s focus on operational efficiency, coordinated execution and faster cargo movement.
The rake was completed in just 2 hours and 37 minutes from Loading Confirmation to Last Lift, further demonstrating the terminal’s ability to streamline operations and reduce turnaround time for rail cargo.
The achievement was enabled by meticulous planning, seamless coordination among operational teams and a strong focus on execution. The faster handling of the double-stack rake supports more efficient utilisation of rail capacity and helps facilitate the movement of larger cargo volumes within shorter timeframes.
