NAVI MUMBAI: PSA Mumbai has achieved a significant operational milestone by completing a 2-hour 05-minute turnaround for a Dedicated Double-Stack Train at Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA), handling a total of 270 TEUs.
The operation involved the discharge of 90 TEUs and loading of 180 TEUs, with the dedicated double-stack train subsequently moving towards ICD Varnama. The operation was carried out in association with the Container Corporation of India Ltd. (CONCOR).
The achievement reflects the importance of precision, meticulous planning, seamless coordination and disciplined execution across the teams involved in the rail and terminal operations.
The rapid turnaround demonstrates the growing focus on enhancing the efficiency of rail-linked container movement at JNPA and strengthening the integration between port terminals, rail operators and inland container depots.
By enabling faster handling and turnaround of double-stack trains, such operational efficiencies can contribute to improved cargo velocity, better utilisation of rail infrastructure and more reliable supply-chain connectivity.
