KOLKATA : Regional Container Lines (RCL) has provided a further update on the MV NAWATA BHUM, following the incident involving the vessel on the Hooghly River, India, on 12 August 2026.
RCL has confirmed that the vessel was successfully refloated on 13 August 2026 following the necessary operational procedures and subsequently resumed her scheduled voyage.
The company has also confirmed that all crew members onboard are safe and no injuries have been reported. Importantly, there has been no damage to the cargo onboard, ensuring that the integrity of the vessel’s cargo has remained intact throughout the incident and recovery process.
Following the refloating operation, the vessel underwent the necessary inspections, assessments and safety checks to determine her condition and readiness to continue the voyage. Upon completion of these assessments, MV NAWATA BHUM was cleared to resume service.
