PIPAVAV : APM Terminals Pipavav has achieved a significant operational milestone with the successful maiden call of MV OOCL Malaysia, the longest container vessel ever to berth at Pipavav Port. Measuring 367 metres in length overall (LOA), the vessel’s arrival underscores the terminal’s capability to accommodate next-generation mega container ships while delivering safe and efficient port operations.
During the vessel call, the terminal successfully completed 1,756 container moves, with operations executed seamlessly through meticulous planning, close coordination and strict adherence to safety standards. The achievement reflects the terminal’s operational efficiency, advanced infrastructure and readiness to handle larger vessels serving India’s growing international trade.
The successful handling of MV OOCL Malaysia was made possible through the coordinated efforts of APM Terminals Pipavav’s Commercial, Marine, Planning, Operations, Engineering, Safety, Security and Support teams, which worked together to ensure smooth vessel turnaround and uninterrupted cargo handling.
