HALDIA: Haldia Dock Complex (HDC), a unit of Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port, Kolkata, has achieved a remarkable operational milestone by recording its highest-ever container interchange on a single vessel, reaffirming its growing capabilities as a key gateway for containerized trade in eastern India.
During her port call from 28 to 30 July 2026, SITC Makassar (Voy. 2612S) registered an impressive 2,583 TEUs of container interchange, surpassing the previous record of 2,385 TEUs achieved by SITC Ruid in September 2025.
The new benchmark reflects HDC’s continued focus on operational efficiency, seamless vessel handling, and enhanced terminal productivity. The achievement is the result of close coordination among the HDC operational team, terminal operator, shipping line, and all stakeholders involved in ensuring smooth and efficient cargo movement.
