DPT celebrated India’s 75th Independence Day
GANDHIDHAM : DPT celebrated India’s 75th Independence Day based on the theme of “AZADI KA AMRIT MAHOTSAV”. Shri S.K. Mehta, IFS, Chairman, hoisted the Tri-Colour in presence of Trustees DPT, Shri Arvind Chaudhary, Capt. Santosh Kumar Darokar & Shri L. Satyanarayan, Gandhidham Chamber of Commerce and Industries Shri Tejabhai Kangad-Vice President & Shri Rakesh Jain and Senior Officials of Port. Family members of Port workers, school children were also present.
Shri Mehta, Chairman addressed the gathering at Sports Complex, DPT Township. He apprised the gathering about various initiatives taken by the Deendayal Port Administration which has been instrumental to this success, in all spheres like efficiency, productivity, cost-effectiveness, transparency and Port User satisfaction. Shri Mehta, Chairman congratulated to Port Users, Board of Trustees (DPT), Officers, Employees, Workers, Unions for their support and cooperation for facilitating and endeavouring towards crossing the significant landmark of 117 MMT during 2020-21 (No.1 Major Port since last 14 Years) and social responsibilities carried out by DPT in the crisis of Covid-19. He also appreciated the work done by Frontline Warriors during the pandemic. He gave a clarion call to be in readiness to make Deendayal Port a MEGA PORT.
The Contingent of Central Industrial Security Force, Kandla (CISF) and Fire brigade participated in the function, by maintaining all necessary protocol for Covid-19.
After completion of the programme, Under-19 Cricket Match was organised between Cricket team of DPT Employees “DPT Boys V/S M-Bilal Cricket Academy” at Sports Complex, DPT Township. The Chief Guest and other dignitaries motivated the children. Chairman Shri S. K. Mehta inaugurated the Match by tossing the coin.
