MUMBAI: The Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) has achieved another significant operational milestone, with its Nhava Sheva Distribution Terminal (NSDT) recording its highest-ever break-bulk cargo handling performance by weight.
NSDT successfully handled two separate break-bulk cargo shipments, each weighing 1,667 metric tonnes (MT), marking a new record for the terminal and highlighting its growing capability to handle large and diverse cargo volumes efficiently.
The achievement underscores JNPA’s continued focus on enhancing cargo-handling capacity, improving operational efficiency and providing seamless logistics solutions to port users and the wider EXIM trade.
The successful handling of these high-weight break-bulk consignments demonstrates NSDT’s ability to manage specialised and project-oriented cargo while maintaining efficient terminal operations. Such capabilities are increasingly important as India’s trade volumes diversify and demand grows for reliable handling of non-containerised cargo.
